We went to the Hollywood Bowl again last night! – Tuesday, 22 July 2014
It was a warm Los Angeles summer evening, and after enjoying a wonderful middle eastern picnic and a little red wine:
On The Menu: Shwarma sandwich (pita stuffed with lamb/turkey meat, rice, hummus, taboule, avocado, tahini and spicy sauce), baby carrots, celery, cheese & crackers, watermelon, strawberries, cherries, red grapes, white peach slices, coke and red wine.
I sat in my Box Seat listening to Gustavo Dudamel conduct the L.A. Philharmonic through Beethoven’s Concerto in C Major for Violin, Cello and Piano and then the 5th Symphony. The Capucon brothers and Jean-Yves Thibaudet were tremendous! And from the opening notes of the 5th, it was a robust and wonderful rendition of one of Ludwig’s finest.
And while sitting there enjoying the concert, relaxed, fully sated and comfortably entertained, I gave thanks for my good fortune and the fact that no one was shooting rockets at me, and thought “Life is good.”
Don’t you wish this happened in everyday real life? People might behave better…
