#TBT: Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Lahaina Princess in Maui, Hawaii
Throwback Thursday! 1994: On the dock at Lahaina Harbor, ready to board the Lahaina Princess, for a Sunset Dinner Cruise, in Maui, Hawaii!

Yes, it’s a total tourist thing to do….and we were gifted with FREE activities! All we had to do was attend a Timeshare presentation. We didn’t buy a timeshare, but we did get the Sunset Cruise, a Sailboat/Snorkel Excursion and a free breakfast out of the deal.

We boarded the boat, and were seated with another couple on the open air top deck. The Mai Tais were included with dinner and the cruise, so we were drunk before we left the dock I think. We quickly made friends with the other couple over the drinks. The meal was okay, to the best of my recollection, but the Mai Tais were great and everyone was in a party mood!

Ingredients: 8 parts white rum, 4 parts dark rum, 3 parts orange curaçao, 3 parts Orgeat syrup, & 2 parts fresh lime juice. Shake all ingredients except the dark rum with ice. Preparation: Strain into glass, float dark rum onto the top, garnish with pineapple spear, maraschino cherry, plastic sword & paper umbrella. Serve with straw.

There was live music onboard, the atmosphere was romantic, and it was a lot of fun. We cruised around on the Pacific ocean, with beautiful views of the harbor and island, had dinner, watched the gorgeous golden tropical sunset, and then returned to the dock. It was a pleasant excursion and I recommend it if you want to get “hammered” on a boat in Hawaii.
