And we went back to Las Vegas last week! SUPRISE!
A fast drive on Sunday night, a free room, and good friends waiting to have fun!
How could we refuse the invitation?
We stayed until Thursday, so on Tuesday night we went out for delicious Thai food at the famous Lotus of Siam restaurant. Word has been out on this restaurant for years and we’ve always wanted to try it. The original location is being renovated, but they recently opened a second location in the “Chinatown Strip”, and we drove over for an early meal.
On The Menu: Chicken satay, mee grob noodles, shrimp pad Thai, beef panang, steamed rice, and a few tiki cocktails!
Everything was great! We were seated without having to wait. The service was good. The food was delicious and well timed. We ordered just enough and there were no leftovers. We left full and happy. Always a good way to start the night in Vegas.
NOTE: When we left every table was seated and there was a line out the door waiting to get in. So, HOT TIPGo Early if you don’t want to wait!

And then after dinner went over to The Golden Tiki for more cocktails and fun.

We have started our SPRING CLEANING early. We are tasked with “unboxing”, sorting, repacking and moving all of our stuff again. And now we are selling and giving away other things we no longer need or wish to keep and store.
We moved everything to this location from our last storage space in North Hollywood. We also gave away a quality queen bed, a very nice leather recliner sofa and another small couch during that move. And our mid-century modern dining room table is also “on loan” until we have a place for it.
A daunting task to deal with so much “stuff” which we have only just begun…
MORE TO COME! (an inventory, pics and stuff for sale soon!)

Crispy rice with pork, beef panang and steamed rice, chicken satay with cucumber salad and toast, pad Thai noodles with chicken, green curry chicken, tom kai soup and a Thai iced tea (no cream). There were three other dishes that we didn’t eat and we cancelled two other dishes that they didn’t bring. So much food, so full.

NOTE: This Blog (and the UC Santa Cruz Blog that hasn’t been published yet) was written before we got the news that our very good friend Ann from college died suddenly and unexpectedly this week. We’ve been in shock and are deeply saddened by this news. You don’t think this will be the last time you see someone you’ve loved for 30+ years. It was a really fun day in Hollywood and then I dropped them off at the Cure concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Rest in Peace Annie. May the Four Winds blow her safely home.
