Welcome! Good Morning! It’s Saturday!
Okay, let’s Live Blog about the day.
7:20am
So, the dogs are all fed and snacked.
They went outside before and after.
They watched me make, eat and drink my breakfast and a double espresso
And now the puppies are playing tug-o-war with a towel on the rug
and the Big Boy is laying on the bed in my office while I’m writing this Blog.
Breakfast: 2 English muffins with chunky peanut butter and red raspberry jam, sweet red grapes, a ripe yellow banana, a small glass of “not from concentrate” orange juice and a warm double espresso with non-dairy creamer.
7:20am Watching the Banana.
“M*A*S*H” (the TV series) is on Sundance Channel on my big screen television.
One more time outside with the played-out puppies and now the dogs are down for their morning nap. The “Little Bandit” is asleep in my lap and it’s just 7:45am

8:20am
So, the workmen are here now.
They have been replacing the tile on my patio and doing some other work here at the house. What should have been a 3-day job is taking 2 weeks. They didn’t have enough tile when they started the job, which I pointed out to “the boss” before they started. It was easy to see that 6 boxes of 6 tiles each (36 tiles) wasn’t going to cover the top of the patio, the steps and the sides which already used 40+ same sized tiles. Then they had to stop because it rained, not once but three times, and so they’re here on Saturday morning to saw tiles and finish the patio work at last.
Warning: Construction Zone!
Good Watchdogs!

The dogs have been moved to the bedroom because they were barking. NOTE:“M*A*S*H” (the TV series) is still funny, and it is so much better than anything currently on network television!
9:10am
The dogs are back in the office because they were barking. “Airplane! The Movie” has come on Sundance Channel.
Lt. Hurwitz: “You’ll be good! You’ll be great! Gonna have the whole world on your plate! Everything’s Comin’ Up Roses….”
Ted Stryker: “War is Hell.”
And now the dogs (and me) are down again for their morning nap.
I didn’t stay down for long…. and neither did they.
Saturday Morning Nap POV
Watched a Saturday Sunrise from Hawaii onPeriscope (Thanks gLo in Kailua!):
And a little more “Airplane! the Movie”:
Sing Along! “There is only one people, we are one and the same…”
10:00am
Another espresso (and I ate a piece of cold fried chicken, a leg, while making it):
Warm Espresso (with milk)
Getting hungry… the dogs are sleeping. “Let sleeping dogs lie.”
Sawing stone tiles, looking out my backdoor.
Hammering and drilling, working in the living room.
(Do I have a headache?) Why does Sundance Channel have commercials?
silence…
10:30am Time to go into the kitchen and take the puppies outside again.
Birds of Prey! 4 Hawks circling overhead… with blue skies and clouds.

No, these are hawks not turkey vultures!
They’ve been hunting in the neighborhood for a couple months.
They like to perch in the tall trees and watch for small critters.
So, okay, maybe not. Back into the kitchen. Time to cook.
10:50am BRUNCH!
CLICK ON ANY SMALL PIC TO SEE A LARGER PIC AND VIEW THE GALLERY AND THEN CLICK AGAIN TO VIEW THE PIC AT FULL SIZE!
BRUNCH!
Brunch! Cheese Quesadilla
BRUNCH! Bacon & Eggs
Bacon & Eggs cooking!
Brunch: 2 eggs (over medium), 4 strips of crispy bacon, a cheese quesadilla,
a glass of cran-raspberry-orange juice and a glass of pineapple juice.
Brunch?
And HBO is running an ironic “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” marathon:
CNN shows Trump Riots in Chicago!
John Oliver on “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver”
And the dogs are down again.
And now it’s NOON.
So, I wrote this Blog this morning too.

UPDATE Saturday 3:15pm
It’s still too wet to finish the tile work. So it’s cut and measured
and they say they’ll finish after the next few storms pass through.
Probably “2 more weeks”…. but the hammering just won’t stop.
Pretty girls!
They went to the pet groomer and got shaved and washed on Thursday.
The Road Trip continues! Leaving Ashland on Saturday morning I was treated to great weather and a wonderful sunrise! It rained Friday night/Saturday morning and washed the smoke from the fires away. It was smoky, cloudy and hazy all week during my visit, so waking up to blue skies and a beautiful dawn was a really nice way to end my stay.

Saturday morning in Ashland! Farmer’s market downtown on Oak Street between Lithia and Main. Unfortunately, I got there late and the market was closing. I did get some good pics, but didn’t get to shop at all…

Anti-GMO Protest on the Plaza
I love Ashland! Around the corner from the Farmer’s Market on the Plaza, there was an Anti-GMO protest in progress. I definitely had to check it out.

There were 15 groups represented and information tables with sign up sheets, petitions, and stuff for sale (donations). Lots of people were gathered both as participants and spectators. It was very reminiscent of Santa Cruz in the 1980’s.

Another trip through Lithia Park! After breakfast at the Morning Glory Cafe on Sunday, I took a little walk. It was a beautiful slightly overcast morning, and the slow and even pace of drumming from the yoga group provided a very cool soundtrack for the beginning of our hike.

Lithia Park is the largest and most central park in Ashland, Oregon. It consists of 93 acres of forested canyonland around Ashland Creek, stretching from the downtown plaza up toward its headwaters near Mount Ashland. Its name originates from the lithium oxide found in the stream water. The park has two large green area, a bandshell for public musical performances, two duck ponds, a large playground, tennis courts, community buildings and, in winter, an ice skating rink. It also offers picnic areas and miles of hiking trails. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
