10:15am: We were up all night. And we took care of the dogs this morning.
They were outside. They got fed. They were outside again.
And we got the newspapers and had a double espresso.
Then we went to the grocery store and did some marketing.
We needed to stock up on stuff again. So, we did.
TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE STORE! (and it was pretty empty at 7:30am)
Too many vendors, and workers, and not enough social distancing!
We get so freaked out everytime we go grocery shopping.
We went home and put everything away, and then we took a hot shower.
We needed to finish everything before the housekeeper arrived.
And she is here today, as scheduled…
although we should have given her the day off again.
So we are isolating in the Home Office with the dogs while she cleans.
It’s beautiful day in the neighborhood.
And there’s no construction! So it’s quiet.
No trucks, no workers, no steel dumpster, no traffic. NO NOISE!
Just the sound of the housekeeper vacuuming.
And we have “The Blues Brothers” on TV for our morning soundtrack.
3:15pm: We fell asleep with the dogs and when we woke up around 2:00pm the housekeeper was long gone and the house was clean. We took the dogs outside and drank an espresso.
We got the mail and took the dogs outside again. It’s very WINDY today…. VERY WINDY!
So, we made another espresso and now we are thinking about eating some food…
we went to the market this morning so there’s lots of choices right now.
On The Menu: 2 Hotdogs with mustard, chopped onion and cheese; dill pickle, celery & carrot sticks, half an avocado, raspberries, red grapes and one more espresso to drink.

8:00am: So, turning on the news this morning, the vaccine is here! REJOICE!
Oh, and there’s not enough for everyone…. so you’ll just have to share…..
And front line health care workers get the first doses (unless you count The White House and GOP staffers who caused this national emergency). And then 21 days from now they’ll get a second dose, and then two week later they’ll supposedly be vaccinated…. we’ll see.
35 DAYS FROM NOW! End of January…. but it still won’t be available for most people.
But the government and media want you to believe we can return to how life was in 2019.

3:30pm: We woke up in a really bad mood this morning.
We went back to bed and woke up still in a bad mood.
So, we went back to bed with the dogs and when we woke up we felt better.
We just had another espresso and now we’re updating the Blog Post.
On The Menu: Thai food delivered! BBQ sparerib, chicken satay with peanut sauce, pad Thai noodles, mixed vegetables (they didn’t have mee grob noodles last night), cucumber salad, and a Thai iced tea.
Recapping Tuesday night – Wednesday morning:
We were entertained by TV and the interweb all night long.
And we decided to investigate YouTubeTV on our Apple+ system.
We’ve found a few really cool channels and last night we watched guys build amazing jungle houses, underground homes and temples, with swimming pools and slides, out of sticks, mud, and clay FOR HOURS! – “Jungle Survival” on youtube (and a couple other channels like theirs)

We finally went to bed at 6:00am.
We got woken up at 7:30am by the Big Dog barking again.

The dogs got fed and we went back to bed.
We woke up at 9:15am, got the newspapers, drank an espresso,
and took the dogs outside.
On The Menu: LUNCH! 3 Hotdogs
And then we took a nap because we didn’t sleep last night and we got woken up by the Big Dog barking this morning. THEN WE GOT WOKEN UP FROM OUR NAP BY DOG BARKING AGAIN! AND TODAY WE ARE DONE WITH DOGS BARKING! THERE IS A NEW MANDATE THAT DOGS WILL PUNISHED FOR BARKING WITHOUT REASON!

As of December 16, 2020: (and still no testing, tracking or containment plan)
9:30pm: Another day.
One more day. We didn’t go anywhere or do anything.
Don’t know how people can go to work, and be in public all day………
we have friends working two retail jobs to make ends meet,
and other friends who can barely get part-time work because of restrictions.
And we haven’t had a haircut since February!
We live in sweatpants and t-shirts, with our bathrobe and slippers for warmth.
We bought a new pair of shoes a couple months ago that we have hardly worn.
We had our car battery replaced because we had to.
We finally rescheduled our dentist appointment from May because we had to.
Our last trip to the grocery store was super-stressful,
and we have errands and other tasks that we keep putting off
because we don’t want to see or interact with any strangers in L.A.!
And then our friend in Texas called us on the telephone!
YES A TELEPHONE CALL!
He left Los Angeles at the beginning of the pandemic because there was no work.
And he had better opportunities offered back home in the Lone Star State.
He is tending bar at the family-owned bowling alley to earn a living,
and dealing with the unmasked public inside a place of business.
Exactly what we were writing about when he called.
AND TEXAS HAS A HIGHER RATE OF CORONAVIRUS THAN CALIFORNIA!
It actually was the longest conversation we’ve had with anyone in a long time.
NOTE: To the California Department of Public Health, your ads about menthol cigarettes are wasted on us….. and most of the population of the state of California.
WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! BlackLivesMatter, but your commercials don’t.
