Monday, November 30, 2020 – CYBER MONDAY!

“SAFER-AT-HOME” AGAIN! New regulations in Los Angeles start today!

12:05am: We fell asleep. And we just woke up. And now it’s Monday morning!
It must have been the turkey and stuffing with gravy we had for dinner….

And we fell back asleep for a little bit but then we were up at 5;00am, and we took the dogs out, and went back to bed until 7:30am. We fed the dogs and got the newspapers.
On The Menu: We drank two cups of espresso, a little egg nog, and ate a toasted bagel with lox, cream cheese and cucumber earlier in the morning.

CHORE BOY MONDAY – we actually wanted to take care of some menial things today.

12:05pm: We were outside with the dogs and we did a few things around the house.
We got the mail. And then got a package at the door.
And we took out the trash, after finishing the post-Thanksgiving “clean out the fridge” task.

We are waiting on the plumber…. we have a leaky faucet.
Going to try to have hime fix it while having zero contact.
We gave the housekeeper the day off again, and then we did a little cleaning.
Needed a day without disturbance, but now that’s not gonna happen.
But we can leave the plumber to his work, and hopefully it’s an easy fix.

2:45pm: And we are back. The plumber came and has to come back again (of course).
The sink is from the original house build in the 1950’s! And it would cost a lot to replace the antique leaky valve and the rest of the faucet piping, so we are going to replace the entire thing. Maybe tomorrow…. we aren’t going anywhere. And he was able to enter and work without having to go into the house proper pretty much, so that was that.
It’s a beautiful day in the SFV! So when the plumber finished, we took the dogs out into the big yard and discovered there was a “shitload” of poop that needed to be scooped. And so we scooped the whole backyard and did a little garden cleanup too. But we’ll probably do more garden and backyard stuff tomorrow most likel, we think, maybe, well, we’ll see.

6:45pm: We actually did more garden stuff in our little yard before the sunset.
It was so nice outside, and there weren’t any annoying insects….
which we enjoyed, but it is a little scary. There used to be a lot of bugs outside.
Then we took a long shower.
We took the dogs out, and they got fed their supper, and we went outside again.

Monday Night Football and we just ordered a pizza to be delivered soon.
Seattle Seahawks v. Philadelphia Eagles (in Philly) and now HALFTIME.
Seattle 14, Philly 6 at the half.
Seahawks win 23-17… but fail to cover the 6.5 spread!
And the Ravens-Steelers game is moved to Wednesday now….
BUT THE BRONCOS PLAYED YESTERDAY WITHOUT A QUARTERBACK?

7:15pm: Pizza is here and plated. So happy right now.
And we were hungry. Demolished the first round in no time.
Then we did a load of laundry, to finish out the day’s chores.

Day 260! The CoronaVirus will still kill you and your family.
It has killed 268000+ Americans so far and it is spreading exponentially, with a surge to follow Thanksgiving. The long term effects are just beginning to be revealed. The United States can’t return to any kind of “new normal” until there is some level of containment, trustable testing, tracking, and a vaccine that works and that everyone will be willing to try.

1:30am: We went down hard. We slept like a rock. We ate pizza and then fell asleep.
We woke up and it was Tuesday…. so we took the dogs out and now they’re sleeping on the bed in the Home Office. And we are wide awake writing this Blog update.

3:00am: What happened to the last hour and a half? We haven’t done anything at all.
And then it was 4:00am and we fell asleep for an hour and woke up at 5:00am.
And now it’s 5:20am and we are working at updating this Blog Post again.

10:30pm: Okay, let’s do this. Recap the whole day at once.
We may have fallen asleep again and woken up at 8:00am.
Took the dogs out and fed them and took them outside again.
Got the papers and drank a cup of espresso.
Got the mail. Ate leftover pizza for lunch.
Did a little gardening/tree trimming in the front of the house.
We were outside with the dogs a lot,
and they chilled with us in the Home Office most of the day.
Fed the dogs supper. We were outside again for awhile.
Ran a quick errand. More chill time with the dogs.
And now back at the Home Office and thinking about dinner.

The owl is calling,
From the dark and cold outside,
Winter is coming.

3:00am: We fell asleep about 1:00am and woke up at 2:30am.
We took the dogs out and now they’re back to sleep.
And now we’re wide awake. sort of, but kinda tired too.
It’s cool and cleaar outside tonight.
And there are stars visible in the sky, even with the full moon

9:45am: So we slept a little and then we were up early.
We took care of the dogs, they got fed and went outside.
We got the newspapers and had a cup of espresso.

And the plumber came back and fixed the faucet.
Then we took a nap. And we ate leftover cold pizza.

Thursday, December 3, 2020

We woke up really early in the AM after falling asleep early. So we were up until dawn again.
We took care of the dogs, they were outside, they got fed, they got love and we hung out.
We drank two cups of espresso and ate a toasted bagel with peanut butter and jam.
The housekeeper came this morning, so we took the dogs and then we took a nap.

12:30pm: STAY-AT-HOME! WEAR A MASK! WASH YOUR HANDS! SOCIAL DISTANCE!
Gravel voiced California Governor Gavin Newsom issues a new Regional Stay-At-Home Order today! Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti issued a “CANCEL EVERYTHING” Remain-At-Home Order yesterday. California is now plugging “PREPARE AND SUPPORT”……..

3:40pm: The housekeeper finished cleaning for the day and is long gone.
It was windy and warm today. We got the mail and took care of the trash that blew into the front yard from the construction dumpster across the street, and took care of the trashcans.
We took the dogs out to play and take care of business. They are happy pups.

Had a visit from the alarm company, guy wearing body armor at the front door….
There’s a bug (SOME KID OF ELECTRICAL ERROR) in one window in the system that triggers and sends a false alarm but doesn’t signal at the house. And we’ve had technicians out to fix the problem repeatedly without success…. so now we get to worry about some “rent-a-cop” showing up unannounced with a gun not knowing that we don’t know there’s a FALSE ALARM! – NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

On The Menu: A steak sandwich with dill pickle, carrots and red grapes

We need Congressional Hearings on “news media”, the FCC must set requirements (please stop the product placement, giveaways, and contests and require objectivity) for “news programming” and the “news entertainment” networks should pay a lot more for airtime!
