5:30pm: And three and a half days of f*ckery is finally over.
We are exhausted. Just fucking mentally and emotionally spent today.
Feels like we haven’t slept in a week and we are fully stressed out.
And it’s FRIDAY! BANG ON THE DRUM ALL DAY!
The weekend. but there is no weekend when there is no week.
But we can go back to self-isolating in peace today.

“The mask goes over your nose.”
We were up all night and into the morning. And the dog got fed of course.
And we got the papers and eventually made some food around noon.
Our little girl turned 4 years old today! She is the sweetest baby!
They are closing all the beaches in Los Angeles and Ventura counties
for the 4th of July weekend. Bars have been ordered to close again.
Too little, too late….
NEVER SHOULD HAVE RE-OPENED!
We need a real QUARANTINE LOCK DOWN NOW!
On The Menu: Sunday brunch! 2 eggs over medium, bacon, sourdough toast with butter and raspberry jam, an orange, and an espresso and a little orange juice to drink.
We slept a little. We cleaned a little. We did a little gardening.
We played with dog and hung out in the office with the dog.
We watched TV and surfed the interweb.
Lots of good music to see and hear today!
8:00pm: Just watched the first episode of HBO’s “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark”….
(and the Little Boy is licking my toes under the desk while playing with a bone)
We had a bowl of corn chowder (from the can) with added chicken for dinner.

3:00am: Helicopter over the house. Burglary suspects loose in the neighborhood.
So much for sleeping. And the dog doesn’t like the helicopter noise too.
8:30am: The copter flew away and we fell asleep at last. And then we woke up at 7:30am and took care of the dog. We were outside and he got fed and he got played with and now he’s laying under the desk while we are writing. We were going to go to the market but decided to wait until tomorrow again.
Time for coffee.
4:30pm: Well we had coffee (espresso if you want to be technical) and then we fell asleep. We woke up about an hour ago and we were outside with the dog for a little bit. And then we took a shower and made the mistake of watching the Monday afternoon news….
They don’t want to give you bad news on Sunday night or Monday morning, so they dump it all on Monday afternoon. And the news is not good. Most of the news broke over the weekend, Trump and Pence and the GOP knew since March that Putin had offered “bounties” on US Military personnel to the Taliban in Afghanistan, which resulted in US DEATHS! And they didn’t tell anyone, or sanction Russia, or take any action at all, and now they’re denying they knew…..even though it is FACT. And the CoronaVirus is spiking across the country, as predicted when you re-open without testing, a vaccine, or a cure, and you deny the science of the disease. Los Angeles county saw the highest number of cases today. Governor Gavin Newsom half-assed it again today, closing bars but not restaurants in seven counties, instead of ORDERING A COMPLETE LOCK-DOWN again. Broadway announced it will remain closed all year today. AMC Theatres is postponing re-opening movie theatres. Meanwhile, Pence had a conference/rally and there was a big country concert in Tennessee and no one wore a mask or “social distanced”…..
SO MANY KARENS! The new thing is sharing video of people losing it when asked to wear a mask, and publicly shaming them, which is good. WEARAFUCKINGMASK!
7:00pm: And then we fell asleep again. We took a nice nap and woke up after 6:00pm. Then we fed the dog and went outside on both sides. We ate a toasted cheese sandwich on sourdough bread, a dill pickle (the first real food we ate all day), and drank an iced espresso. And now we are back in the Home Office, with the dog under the desk, updating this Blog Post, surfing the inter web, and thinking about what’s for dinner later.
We finally got tired of thinking about what to have for dinner and made a can of beef ravioli after midnight. Thank you Chef Boyardi!
“We wasted 3 months of everyone’s lives for nothing. All the jobs lost, the birthdays missed, and small businesses devastated were all for nothing. We were supposed to suck it up, close everything down, and quarantine so we could slow the spread, and get a plan in action while saving people’s lives. The point was to do this so that within months we could return to a sense of normalcy and feel safer. We can quarantine as much as we want but without proper leadership taking action in the form of accelerating testing, mandating masks nationwide or using any of the other successful tactics everyone else in world used, all we did was waste everyone’s time.
Now we’re opening back up as if we got through the worst part, when in reality the number of active cases is rising at an accelerated rate and we’re at a worst spot than when this all started. We got lazy, started complaining about wearing masks, played political games and lacked empathy for one another so we made things much worse. This should’ve been a federal issue from the beginning. It should not have been up to the states to deal with it on their terms and hoping they’d do the right thing.
This administration has failed us in the worst way imaginable because it decided to ignore science, and hoped the problem would go away on its own. Now 127k people are dead, and many more will die. Everyone should be pissed off that they sacrificed this much for nothing to come from it. The president failed us and sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives but the worst part is he still refuses to change or acknowledge any wrongdoing. He’s tweeting about racist statues instead. So now we’re stuck in this situation for many more months to come.” – Paul Cesar
