An Avalanche occurred on January 18th on Gran Sasso d’Italia in Rigopiano, in the Pescara province of Abruzzo, Italy destroying a four-star hotel and killing an unknown number of guests (at least 5 at the time of writing with many people still missing). There was record snowfall and a series of earthquakes in the region for days prior to the avalanche!
