Tuesday Afternoon in Lithia Park in Ashland Oregon!
Good Morning Ashland! Tuesday morning after breakfast at the Breadboard we drove over to Lithia Park with the intention of going for a walk. When we got there it was just too cold for this Southern California boy!
We returned later in the day, on a beautiful Tuesday Afternoon, after the sun had come out and the weather had warmed up. We walked from the playground to the picnic area and back and Periscoped the first part of the walk and then saved it to Katch.

Lithia Park is the largest and most central park in Ashland, Oregon. It consists of 93 acres of forested canyonland around Ashland Creek, stretching from the downtown plaza up toward its headwaters near Mount Ashland. Its name originates from the lithium oxide found in the stream water. The park has two large green area, a bandshell for public musical performances, two duck ponds, a large playground, tennis courts, community buildings and, in winter, an ice skating rink. It also offers picnic areas and miles of hiking trails. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Chasing the clouds away. Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near, I’ve got to find out why
Those gentle voices I hear explain it all with a sigh.
It’s just the kind of day to leave myself behind,
So gently swaying thru the fairy-land of love,
If you’ll just come with me and see the beauty of

The Japanese Garden:
Everytime we visit Lithia Park we discover something new! This trip we found the Japanese Garden in the park. It’s very tranquil and intimate with a pond and a small stream with running water. The cherry blossoms were blooming which added even more beauty to the landscaped garden area. There are benches and a small covered pavilion for sitting.
