100 BANDS YOU DONE SAW N’ SH*T… (from fb, thanks Skippy!)
My friend Skippy posted his list and these rules in his “notes” on facebook in 2009.
“OK, here are the rules. Test your memory and your love of live music by listing 50 artists or bands (or as many as you can remember) you’ve seen in concert. List the first 50 acts that come into your head. An act you saw at a festival and opening acts count, but only if you can’t think of 50 other artists. Oh, and list the first concert you ever saw (you can remember that, can’t you)? *So far I can’t remember a lot of stuff… so I’ll keep this list going.
Should you choose this challenge, here’s what you do: Copy my note. Click on “notes” under tabs on your profile page. Select “write a new note” in the top corner. Paste the copy in the body of the note. Make your list. Change the number at the top, and add your title. Once you’ve saved, don’t forget to tag friends (including me) on the right.”

Festivus Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Getting BAKED for Festivus! Happy Festivus! (“the festival for the rest of us”)
We shall begin with the Airing of Grievances…
“I’ve got a lot of problems with you people, and now you’re going to hear about it!”
Ingredients:
Cooking Spray
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 squares unsweetened baker’s chocolate (shaved, not chipped)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 sticks butter (softened)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cup (semi-sweet) chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat baking sheet with cooking spray.
Mix flour, baker’s chocolate, baking soda and salt in medium bowl and set aside.
Mix (cream) the butter and both sugars until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Add the chocolate chips.
(substitute or add other flavored chips, nuts, M&Ms or other candy pieces if desired)
Roll the dough into 1-1/2 inch balls and place on cookie sheets. Press the dough down to about an inch thick with space between.
Bake 18 minutes or until they are not glossy. Cool and enjoy! Makes about 2 dozen.

Mele Kalikimaka! (written in 1949 by Robert Alex Anderson)
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day
That’s the island greeting that we send to you from the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night…
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day
That’s the island greeting that we send to you from the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii’s way to say Merry Christmas
A very Merry Christmas, a very, very, Merry, Merry Christmas to you!

Cold as ice tonight
Staying warm on the inside
And frosty outside.
Thanksgiving dinner,
Our annual food orgy,
A friendly feast!
The owl is calling,
From the dark and cold outside,
Winter is coming.
A little bird died.
There was nothing I could do.
It was a sad day.
Can you connect me?
I don’t have WiFi…
Fix my internet!
This one’s for Dave:
That is not funny!
Haiku factories are nice,
And not like WalMart.
I hate politics!
Religion, racism and cash.
F*ck you Donald Trump!
They never told me
my life would change forever
at the next right turn.

Going to Hawaii? Save a Dog’s Life!
Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Air Canada and Aloha Air Cargo say dogs can accompany returning flyers on a nonstop flight to Seattle, Portland, San Diego or Oakland and be delivered to shelters on the mainland for adoption!
The Kauai and Maui Humane societies are seeking passengers returning from Hawaii to escort a dog or two to the mainland on their next trip. These transfer programs help save dog’s lives by sending them to Washington, Oregon and California animal shelters rather than being euthanized…
All you do is sign up and they travel back with you. Volunteers on both ends handle all the logistics. The Kauai and Maui shelters pay the discounted rate given by the airline and will provide the dog crate, as well as the necessary medical papers. All you have to do is show up for your flight as scheduled, they’ll do the rest!
Contact them with your flight date & destination:

GRATEFUL DEAD! 50 YEARS! “What a long, strange trip it’s been!”
50 years ago, Dec 4, 1965: Jerry, Bob, Phil, Bill & Pigpen first played music as the Grateful Dead, the house band for Ken Kesey and the Merry Prankster’s Acid Test in San Jose, California!
“This is a One-of-A-Kind Poster, hand drawn, and not mass distributed for the event. It is likely the only one made, or at least, the only one that survived. At this point in the early acid test days, Posters and handbills were not being used to advertise events. Instead, small Posters were placed up in local coffee shops and hangouts around town, of which there were several up and down the bay, but the most prominent of these was a little place called the Catalyst. At the time, it was a lively coffee shop, but now it has moved up the street and small bands play there, as it has been turned into a club. This particular item was taken down by someone from the Catalyst Coffee Shop at the time. I spoke to Lee Quarnstrom, who worked at the Hip Pocket Bookstore in ’65, and lived at the Spread, and attended the event. Lee stated something extremely revealing to me in a private conversation when I visited with him. Lee stated, “The Hip Pocket Bookstore and the Catalyst were connected together. A person could walk from one to the other without ever going outside or leaving the building.” This statement reveals a lot. What it means is that this Poster could be the main advertising and only advertising for the first Acid Test event, besides the sign Norman Hartweg tacked onto the board that belonged to Babbs. Or maybe this was the sign? Either way, in my opinion, this is the most important piece of Acid Test history to survive. Truly Miraculous!”

“Never Trust a Prankster!”
The next acid test took place fifty years ago in the wee hours of Dec. 4, 1965 at Big Nig’s house, a rambling old Edwardian near downtown San Jose, after the Rolling Stones had played a show at the San Jose Civic Auditorium, a 3000 seat venue built in 1934, with the Dead and Kesey’s gang in attendance. After the Stones’ concert, the Pranksters passed out Crayon-lettered handbills for a house party. Their cryptic message was a street address and the words: “Can YOU Pass the Acid Test?” About 300 to 400 people showed up and the Grateful Dead played until the police broke up the party.
“NO LEFT TURN UNSTONED!”
