LUXE Hotel Sunset Boulevard
Friday afternoon, a short ride on the 405 freeway to Sunset Blvd. and the LUXE Hotel.

It was busy at the front desk and the staff was warm, professional and friendly.

The Lobby has a nice seating area and the Lobby Lounge is inviting. There’s no bartender until 4pm, but the staff and the On Sunset restaurant will take care of you if you need any food or drink earlier.

Looking out from the Lounge and Lobby at the Event Patio and Ballroom. Smoking is permitted outside on the adjoining patio area.

A Fountain, and looking back at the Lounge Patio area from the smoking area:

Event and Meeting Space Available!

Wonderful Guest Accommodations:

The Superior Rooms are large and over 500 square feet, with lots of natural light. Howeever, the bathroom for the Superior room is a little small for my taste. Rooms on the ground floor have a “semi-private” outside patio area and some of the upper floor rooms have a private balcony. If you stay here I recommend an Executive Suite:

The Executive Suites are very large and the bathroom is very spacious and also has a walk-in glass shower. They have great in-room amenities: Keurig coffee maker, mini-bar/refrigerator, ipod dock, laptop size safe, etc. in all the rooms.
They also have a few top tier One Bedroom Suites and Vista Suites in the room inventory. And they have connecting rooms and accessible rooms too.
We took a short golf cart trip up the hill to the upper buildings and the pool, spa and fitness center. It’s a short walk from the Lobby, or there’s a shuttle and they also have valet parking up top for guests.

They have semi-private, quiet and perfectly manicured open areas. And you can see the private balcony areas (these overlook the pool area, which is on the right). There’s an up close view of the Getty Museum from the pool and I was told Reese Witherspoon lives next door. The pool area is also available for events.

There’s a beautiful pool area with cabanas, a Sanctuary Spa (also available for day services) and a nice 24 Hour Fitness Center for guests. I didn’t see the Spa treatment rooms, but I’m told they are nice.
After the tour we had a fantastic lunch at On Sunset at the LUXE, the hotel’s restaurant. They have a beautiful patio area and inside dining room. NOTE: It was 100 degrees outside, so we sat inside.

On the Menu: Tuna tartar appetizer, a selection of fresh bread with butter and an olive tapenade, a bowl of New England clam chowder, and half of the Lobster Sandwich (which everyone recommeded so I had to try it) with an iced tea. The food was great! I took the other half of the sandwich home.

WINNER! A beautiful property and a great restaurant on the Westside!
They do wine and food tasting dinners and there’s a fantastic Sunday Brunch, which I’ll be trying soon. Keep watching my blog for more.
